3D capture within a retail environment provides the owner or property manager digital assets that allow you to virtually visit the retail space from anywhere in the world. Our photorealistic model provides an exact replica of the store on the day it was scanned, allowing you to take a virtual tour at any time.
Once a site capture has been complete, scanned data can then be converted easily into working floor plans and as-built drawings. Our hyper accurate LiDAR scanners guarantee discrepancies of under 2mm at 10metres – vital for traditional planning methods.
A single source of truth for measurements, hard to reach areas are now easily accessible and specifications can be checked at the touch of a button. Users can add annotations and additional documents to digital files to assist with asset management.
While buildings come in all shapes and sizes, there are some that do not simply fall into the usual categories such as residential, commercial, or industrial. We have experience capturing the exterior and interior of bespoke buildings, such as civic structures, theatres, council buildings and film studios. Often larger than commercial buildings, these types of structures can be highly detailed with spaces that are not easily accessible for traditional measuring and scanning methods.
We have three tools that we use for scanning bespoke buildings:
A Leica RTC360 terrestrial based laser scanner for detailed, rich, accurate capture, combining LiDAR point cloud and 360-degree photos images.
A Leica BLK2GO mobile handheld scanner for rapid capture reality on the move, anywhere you go.
A DJ Mavic 2 Pro drone for situations where larger sites is aerial capture is required.
Applications for bespoke building 3D site capture include:
Remedial and renovation work
Maintenance surveys
Heritage preservation
Façade mapping
Marketing/sales collateral

We recommend undertaking a 3D site scan using our in-house point cloud scanning technology to capture site data and information on residential developments. We will aerially record sites to create a digital twin (3D model) of existing conditions. This includes the landscape, existing assets and trees that will be retained. The digital twin will allow us to accurately test solutions 3-dimensionally prior to the surveyors completing their works.
This technology can also be used for stakeholder engagement further down the process. We will later populate the finalised designs for clients to utilise within their organisation. Additionally, this will serve as both a useful resource for CAD modelling and a reference point, should physical site access be restricted at any stage. It can also be used outside of the project and will provide crucial knowledge management.Â
