Groynes Reserve
Groynes Reserve
Masterplan
Urban design, Masterplanning
Adjacent to Groynes Reserve in north Christchurch, this 4.2-hectare masterplanned development is designed to grow into a connected, 240-home community — not just a collection of houses. Context was engaged to create a cohesive plan that fosters long-term value and everyday connection among residents.
The layout prioritises shared amenity and social spaces, including a clubhouse for communal gatherings and informal outdoor areas that encourage spontaneous interaction. Grouped parking ensures cars take a backseat to landscape and architecture, supporting a pedestrian-friendly environment.
The masterplan streamlines consenting, maximises land use, and reflects a vision for a vibrant, inclusive neighbourhood where people know their neighbours — and their neighbours’ kids and dogs.
