For this major commercial development situated on prime Auckland waterfront real estate, we worked with property consultants Goodman New Zealand to create a masterplan uniting long-term thinking on success and viability with subtle nods to the area’s culture and history.

Designed to cohesively join the city’s revitalised waterfront and its rapidly growing centre, The Engine masterplan presents a dramatic architectural vision that boldly challenges convention, melding gritty industrial character, strong contemporary design, and solid sustainable development principles to demonstrate what’s possible for Auckland’s harbour.

Our design marries the area’s rich historical elements with its present-day connections to innovation and design, particularly in the maritime and technology spheres. It retains and celebrates Auckland’s unique heritage fabric whilst foregrounding sophisticated modern design and paving the way for a rich, playful public realm.
