Close to Auckland’s CBD, Luna Apartments comprises studio, one and two bedroom units. Context was approached to explore solutions to damaged recessed balconies caused by failures to waterproofing systems.
As part of the design solution, Context recommended converting the existing balconies into interior floor area using a curtain wall system. These were framed with large sections of aluminium cladding to organise and reduce the visual mass of the extensive facade
The building is now healthier and safer for residents, with the additional benefit of all-weather living space increasing the floor area of each apartment.
