This concept was developed for owner Goodman, to upgrade Air New Zealand’s headquarters ahead of the lease expiring on the Wynyard Quarter property.
Context’s proposal enclosed the courtyard in a glazed full-height atrium, connecting the two halves of the building to form an all-weather space. Cantilevered meeting pods projected into the void with part-height glass balustrades replacing existing glazed walls.
New blades were strategically applied to the exterior, improving the indoor environment quality and providing a striking branding opportunity with a lenticular representation of the Air New Zealand logo at the scale of a Boeing 777 tailfin – appearing and disappearing as the building is passed by.
