The Anchorage is a four-storey, 66-apartment complex on Mount Maunganui’s waterfront. Built in 2002, its cladding system began to fail causing extensive water damage.
In consultation with apartment owners, the existing cladding was removed, water damage remediated and a modern, watertight, low-maintenance cladding wrapped around the façade. Additional measures to ensure weathertightness were undertaken including new drainage for balconies and a redesigned and resealed roof.
The introduction of a fresh colour scheme and a new glass balustrade system, lifted the building’s appearance along with apartment values, rehabilitating a beleaguered building into an attractive living complex.
