Future-proof social housing in Hastings

This larger-scale regeneration project for 44 new Kāinga Ora homes saw us work with local consultants to develop masterplan options for extending a cul-de-sac and stitching two existing streets together, creating a gently curving spine fronted by new homes.

Best-practice urban design principles led us to consider carefully placed standard homes (designs developed alongside Kāinga Ora), to offer a range of housing for the local community.

The development includes one-bedroom, two-bedroom, three-bedroom, four-bedroom and five-bedroom properties. The new houses foster a strong sense of community and create a successful new street.

We worked with our clients and the wider consultant team to deliver this through the full design phase, with construction completed in May 2021.
